airborne... yuck

It's getting cold here in Rexburg, Idaho so naturally people are getting sick. To prevent our cute little bodies from getting sick Emily and I have been taking airborne and it is GROSS!! Oh I hate it with all my heart. Emily has to sit there and talk me into taking it for about 5 minutes before I actually drink it. Even then we plug our noses because... yuck. The things we do for our bodies. SHEESH!

I went with Alexa on Tuesday to get her hair done and on our way home we found the cutest little cafe. A cupcake cafe!! They have the biggest most delicious cupcakes ever! And there are like 50 different flavors! They also have drinks like at starbucks! Overall it's just the greatest place in Rexburg (minus the temple) Since finding it on Tuesday we have been there... five times. :) Come visit me and I'll take you there for sure!

SO! Thursday was Courtney's birthday so I talked to her boyfriend and he told her they were "going to the zoo" for her birthday so Thursday morning they got in the car and started driving towards Salt Lake and just keep coming to see me in Rexburg!! woohoo!! So the night before Alexa and I decorated the living room for her with hearts and... goodness!

When Court and Ben got here and went to I.F. to go SHOPPING!! We were seriously freaking out haha (embarassing i know) don't worry thought I didn't find anything... boo. But I found an adorable skirt for Court at Old Navy that was on SAAALE! :D Oh man I cannot wait to come home and go to Planted Earth and Nordstrom and the shops at Gardner Village. YAY FOR SHOPPING WITH MOM!! :)

THIS PICTURE IS FOR PENNY ELAINE MILLS! :D Pen I saw this bug at the mall in idaho falls and I thought of you! Too bad it's not pink. :)

Instead of a birthday cake we went ahead and went to the cupcake cafe for Court's birthday. :) Here are our delish cupcakes. I got red velvet, Lex go Madagascar Vanilla Vanilla, and Court got Better than Whatever. YUM!

By the way we had such great adventures with Courtney and Ben. :) On our way back from i.f. we sure did get pulled over and the highway patrolmen have these crazy hick town hats! Oh man this place is so great. :D

Alexa, Courtney, and Janna. :)

Random Pictures from the week:

A clean kitchen!! There are always people in and out of our place and people always just make a mess in our house so it's NEVER clean! But today we got a few hours and just clean clean cleaned and... it's clean!! :D (notice how there are no dishes on the counter or in the sink, no trash in the garbage can... :D)

Tanner: Another reason you should come to BYU-I!! :D

On Friday night I went to THE BEST concert EVER! In Rexburg?! you ask. YA! I know right? It was Allred, The Summer Set, and We Shot the Moon. It was at the Westwood theater on main street. P.S. Allred is coming to Provo next week... I'm gonna go then too! :D

Another one of our favorite places: Snoasis! :D Just a snowcone shack but it's so so yummy! Ice cream at the bottom and cream on top! The last day for the season was yesterday. :( Now we just have to wait for the REAL snow.

A picture of Rexburg from the temple. :)

it's getting cold...

This is Alexa, Breia, and I all geared up to go to the library!! :) It was pouring rain on Saturday so we all had our umbrellas out even though it's only a 2 minute walk. We got to the library at around 3:30 and we were there until 6:45. We really are college students! We were going CRAZY though! I know that sounds wimpy for all you experienced college students but oh man it was killer for us! Right when it hit 6:00 Alexa looked up all frantically and said to me, "Janna! We are are the LIBRARY on a Saturday night!!!!!!" hahaha :)

Lexa and I decided to go to the temple on Saturday. We walked to the temple just to find out that they couldn't let anyone else do baptisms because it was too too busy. (p.s. that was the third time I've tried to go do baptisms :S SOMEONE doesn't want me to be at the temple... sheesh!) BUT it was completely worth it because A. we got a cute picture in front of the temple and B. we got a chance to remember how po-dunk Rexburg is. I took a picture from the front of the temple and on the left you can see apartments. When you look to the left you see downtown Rexburg. Lots of houses, stores, BYU-I, etc. When you look to the right you see... absolutely nothing. It's a field of nothingness for miles and miles, literally!! BUT it gets even better. :) When we walked through the gates into the temple we saw 4 people standing there and Alexa said to me, "Maybe there's a wedding!" I replied to her, "Ya right, there's only 4 people out here!" Oh no she was right. Right then the bride and groom walked out of the temple doors. Yay we got to see a bride and groom, I love going to the temple and seeing weddings BUT then we realized what she was wearing. Her dress was a polygamist dress. I'm serious! There was like a hoop at the bottom so it was really wide and bell like at the bottom and the top was all ruffles and lace and poof and turtleneck (heaven forbid any skin shows!!) and she was wearing this gold crown... :) yup. We sure are in Rexburg. :D

Friday was international talk like a pirate day. We took full use of the holiday making up ridiculous jokes that used AARRGGGG in them and making pirate faces. :D Emily and I were in hysterics all day long!!!! ... Literally. My favorite joke would have to be one that Em made up here it goes...

"What is a pirates favorite mode of transportation? .... the cAAARRRRRR" hahahaha it's retarded I know... ok maybe you had to be there. You just have to picture Emily saying cAAARRRRR like a pirate with a hook and all.. just like in the picture. hahaha

do do do...

Probably the funnest thing i have done yet... bridge jumping. :D we drove to monkey rock and played around in the water there and then decided to go bridge jumping! when we got there there were a bunch of people already jumping too so it was just one big partay!! The movie is one of our new friends doing a back flip off the bridge. Don't worry mom i didn't do anything that crazy. :)

so the plan was hide and go seek with glow sticks in the civil defense caves but no... we got rear ended instead. :S we are all just fine, we were getting off the freeway on the crappiest exit EVER (it's literally just BOOM it's there) and so the driver of the car i was in slowed down and got in the turning lane to get off the freeway and the car behind us (another car of our friends) couldn't slow down fast enough and just rammed right into us. :S SOO we turned back around and came to our apartment and watched that 70s show instead. haha :)

oh how cute... obama and hillary :D hahaha these masks were in the halloween section at wal-mart and they couldn't resist. we were looking for glow sticks to use to play hide and go seek in a cave and.. this is what we found instead.

ok mom this is for you! of course the traditional first day of school picture! unfortunately it wasn't in our front yard... with kate and pen and the murray's... :( boo. so it's only been the first week of school but it's already CRAZY!!!! good ole' college.

ok so first of all click on the "emily smemily" link and look at the picture emily drew of our roomates hahaha :D

so these past 2 days have been kind of crazy busy! we have had all these "get connected" activities that show us around campus and just let us get to know other students. This is me and my roomates with our "I-Team" leaders Megan and Josh. P.s. Megan yodels!! :D

This is our first cute little meal together :) grilled cheese and chilli... and peaches... and milk. haha

This is mine and Emily's first mischievious act in Rexburg :D well this is before the act of mischieviousness... When we first got into town there is a roundabout with statues in the middle and on one of the statues is a pair of orange sunglasses so when we drove into town tanner said he HAD to have those sunglasses! so after the talent show thing friday night we sure did go and get them. :D

Proof.

Story Time! So last night before the talent show started (by the way i hate talent shows... i really do. it's just a way for people that don't have very many good talent show talents to feel bad about themselves!!) anyways i really had to go to the bathroom so i went into the manwaring to use the bathroom (we were all meeting in the taylor quad) and my group started to walk down to the hart for the talent show so emily texted me and told me so when i was finished i started walking down there by myself. i called shannon because she had just texted me and i explained to her why i was walking by myself and in front of me these 2 ladies were carrying a bunch of balloons and i guess she overheard me and felt bad so she gave this orange balloon!!! :D it was SOOO great of her! and so we went to the talent show and fransisco, the mc for the night walked past us and we said hi and he came back 2 minutes later and asked if i would give the opening prayer so in front of the whole freshman class... i said the opening prayer :D hahaha

There's something that makes Rexburg different. Maybe it's the drinking water, I don't know, but it tends to make people here a little... more crazy than normal. (that's why those jaynes's are so crazy! :D) so this morning before a little morningside thing we had they were playing music and benjamin and i started dancing and then he started showing me all these COOL COOL flips!! (he is a swing dancer... SO fun!) anyways here is a little flippy... don't try this at home ;)

Good luck getting through this beast...

I haven't blogged in forever! SO I thought I would do this right and back track a little bit. What have I been up to since New York?!

Bowling!

Throwing parties for Kate. :D (she turns 16 on the 9th but that's my second day of school so there was no way i could be there to do something for her so i threw her a party a little early! It turned out PERFECT!! lots and lots of her friends came, we had a d.j. and games and food and don't worry the police came haha)

More bowling!

Visiting Grandma in Salt Lake and of course we couldn't leave without her giving us some treasures! No she didn't give me these fabulous cowboy boots but i just LOVED them so i had to wear them the whole time we were there. :)

Cleaning out my closet... seriously. This is one of the baskets we took to d.i. ha! SO that pretty much brings us to the present! I did some other great stuff like went and saw Rogue Wave and Jack Johnson in concert, went shopping and bought NOTHING (i know, crazy), tye dye, making hemp bracelets... haha oh you know the works.

So finally summer has come to an end... this is Courtney and I saying goodbye last night. :(

This morning mom and I moved all my stuff, and trust me there was quite a bit, to the car... all by ourselves. :D we felt pretty tough, that's what this superwoman pose is for. Well that and the fact that we really are superwomen...

This is my cute little dorm!! Well part of the front room at least, Tanner decided to try and be a man and help us move the stuff inside ;)

HANDS DOWN the neatest thing we have found so far (other than the statue in the middle of town that someone put their sunglasses on) our phone is A. 80 years old and B. has THE longest cord ever! So naturally Tanner and I had to use it as a jump rope! It worked like a charm. :D

We had dinner at frontier pie and found a cute little friend. :)

Now HERE is a story worth telling. Emily and I both like to sleep with fans blowing right on us so I have mine on a little shelf right by my bed but Emily had different stuff of hers on her side of the shelf so we had to figure out how to put her fan up so my little college brain thought of
<----- THIS! isn't it amazing? I shoved a wire hanger into the ceiling and and made a loop and shoved the other end in the ceiling and duct taped them there and then stuck the fan right on the loop! :D Oh man we are geniuses.

Well so wow... I'm all moved in... I live in Rexburg, Idaho. :D yikes! This is my little part of the room before I had all my stuff moved in and of course the picture below is after. :) Yes I fit all the clothes I brought in the closet, although it is TINY! and I went to good ole wally world and got a foam pad to put on my mattress cause it SUCKS and now it will be like sleeping on a cloud! :) Oh man it's just been great so far! Our roomates are Julianne and Lauren from Michigan and Wisconsin and we are all so much alike. We went to the orientation together and after moving all of our stuff in just talked for 3 hours! :) Tomorrow we have a few different activities and need to run some more errands.. don't worry i'll keep you updated!
